All liquid-immersed or dry-type, single-phase or three-phase, outdoor or indoor shunt reactors rated over 500 kVA are covered. Terminology and general requirements are stated, and the basis for rating shunt reactors is set forth. Routine, design, and other tests are described, and methods for performing them are given. Losses and impedance, temperature rise, dielectric tests, and insulation levels are covered. Construction requirements for liquid-immersed reactors and construction and installation requirements for dry-type reactors are presented. This standard also covers thyristor-controlled shunt reactors used in static var compensators.

The article is divided into three parts. In the first part, after referring to an ongoing project of an online re-release of artistic documents coming mainly from Tuscany (and Siena in particular) dating back to the XIVth and XVth centuries, and of creation of a glossary of the artistic and architectural terminology contained therein, the author announces his intention to expand the investigation to the extra-Tuscan terminologies in use in the centres or areas that played an important role in the domain of figurative arts in the period under consideration, to study the timeframe and means of their emergence and diffusion. For this purpose, the author believes that the archives of the Fabbricerie, related to the construction of large churches, could be fertile ground for documentary investigation. In the second part, the results of a first survey in the Archivio della Fabbrica di San Petronio, in Bologna, are followed by the examination of a few words extracted from two documents dating back to the end of the XIVth century. In the third part, the focus is on a rich anthology of artistic documents made available to experts by Adriano Franceschini, Artisti a Ferrara in età umanistica e rinascimentale, through which it is possible to know better the artistic vocabulary in Ferrara; also in this case, some lexical examples are provided.

he paper deals with the German language terminology of occupational health and safety (OHS) in South Tyrol, Italy, where the minority language has official status next to the national language. The South Tyrolean German legal language is developed along two main lines, i.e. through secondary term formation based on translations of Italian terms or by adopting terms already established in the German-speaking countries. The examples given in the paper show the presence of terminological gaps in South Tyrolean German, the influence of Italian, the delicate relation with the legal terminology of the foreign German-speaking legal systems and the difficulty of disseminating an unambiguous terminology in the domain of OHS at local level. The final part explains the currently adopted development and dissemination strategies.
